DevOps and SRE reqs are the most common in our pipeline — every Series B+ company is over-investing in platform engineering relative to product engineers. The catch: most companies want a 'unicorn' SRE who can do Kubernetes, Terraform, observability, security, and on-call rotation. We push back when the role is realistically two people stitched into one. The strongest candidates have a clear specialty within reliability — they know what they own deeply.
Typical engagement
Reliability and platform contract roles are most often W-2 contract or contract-to-hire (clients want long-term coverage), with C2C common for principal-level engagements. ABC-test states (CA, NJ, MA, IL) are W-2 only.
