Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-29
Edition Technologies LLC (“Edition Technologies,” “we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy and provides this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit our website at editiontechnologies.com or interact with our services.
This is not legal advice. This Privacy Policy is a public commitment, not a binding interpretation of the law. If you have questions about how we handle your data or how to exercise your rights, contact us at
privacy@editiontechnologies.com.
1. Who we are
Edition Technologies is a US-based engineering placement firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. We match software, data, and infrastructure engineers — at every seniority level — with companies that need to hire them, either directly or through partner staffing firms. We are organized as a Texas limited liability company.

2. What information we collect
We collect personal information in three ways: (a) what you give us, (b) what we collect automatically when you visit our website, and (c) what we receive from partners and clients in the course of staffing engagements.
2.1 Information you give us directly
When you submit a form on our website or send us an email, we collect what you provide. The specific fields depend on which form you use:
-
Talent network / candidate intake (
/careers/[stack]/,/careers/join/):- Name, email address, phone number (optional)
- LinkedIn URL, GitHub URL (optional)
- Resume (PDF file you upload)
- Years of experience, primary technology stack(s), seniority level you’re seeking
- Engagement preferences (W-2, 1099, Corp-to-Corp)
- Location preference and remote-work flexibility
- Work authorization status (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Green Card, H-1B, OPT)
- Whether you want to receive role alerts and our newsletter
-
Contact form (
/contact/):- Name, email address, company name (optional)
- Reason for contact (hiring engineers, looking for a role, payrolling, parent vendor)
- Free-text message
-
Live chat / quick message (sitewide):
- Name, email address
- Free-text message
- The page you were on when you sent the message
-
Newsletter signup (footer, “The Edition”):
- Email address only (first name optional)
-
Resource / lead-magnet download (
/resources/[slug]/):- Email address, first name
- Stack interest and role (engineer, hiring manager, other) — both optional
2.2 What we collect automatically
When you visit editiontechnologies.com, we (and our hosting provider Cloudflare) automatically collect limited technical information:
- IP address (we hash it before storing; we do not retain raw IP addresses)
- User agent string (your browser and operating system; truncated to 500 characters)
- Page paths viewed, referrer URL, country (from Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-friendly, no cookies)
- Form submission timestamps
We do not use cookies on our public website (as of the Last Updated date above). We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any other third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking service. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
2.3 What we receive from partners
In the ordinary course of staffing services, we may receive information about you from partner staffing firms (Tier-1 vendors), end clients, references you provide, or recruiters who refer you to us. This may include performance feedback, interview notes, hiring decisions, contract terms, and similar business records. We treat this information with the same privacy protections as information you give us directly.
3. What we don’t collect (and what we ask you not to send us)
We don’t ask for, and we don’t want, the following data through our public-website forms:
- Social Security numbers, Tax Identification numbers, or government IDs
- Date of birth, age, or graduation dates
- Race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or marital status
- Disability status, medical information, or health records
- Photographs
If you choose to include any of the above on a resume you upload, we will not use it in our hiring or matching process and we will not share it with clients. If you’d like us to delete a resume that contains this kind of information, contact privacy@editiontechnologies.com and we’ll remove it within 7 days.
If we need to collect any of this information later in an engagement (for example, work-authorization documentation required to onboard you as a W-2 employee), we’ll do that through a separate, secure process — not through public website forms.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match you to opportunities: Review your skills, experience, and preferences against open roles from our clients and partner vendors.
- Communicate with you: Respond to your inquiries, schedule interviews, send role alerts (if you opted in), send our monthly newsletter “The Edition” (if you subscribed), and provide updates on engagements you’re part of.
- Operate our business: Manage relationships with hiring managers, partner vendors, and clients. Process invoices, generate W-2s and 1099s for placed contractors, comply with employment and tax law.
- Improve our website and services: Analyze aggregate traffic patterns to understand which content is useful and which forms convert.
- Prevent abuse: Detect and stop spam, fraud, and unauthorized access. We hash IP addresses to enforce per-IP rate limits without retaining raw IPs.
- Comply with legal obligations: Respond to lawful requests from government authorities; comply with employment, tax, and immigration law applicable to staffing firms.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. A human reviews every candidate before any submission to a client.
5. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only in the limited situations below:
5.1 Service providers
We use a small set of vendors to operate our business. They process your data on our behalf, under contractual obligations to keep it confidential and use it only as we instruct:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (US) — website hosting, DNS, email routing, R2 object storage (resume PDFs), D1 database (form-submission metadata), Web Analytics, Turnstile (anti-bot)
- Resend, Inc. (US) — outbound transactional and newsletter email delivery
- Beehiiv, Inc. (US) — newsletter platform for “The Edition” issues
- Google LLC — Google Workspace (we use Cloudflare Email Routing for inbound; outbound may use Google’s infrastructure)
- Telegram FZ-LLC (United Arab Emirates) — internal team-notifications channel for live chat messages (the chat content is also stored on Cloudflare D1 in the US; Telegram is a redundant alert path, not the primary system of record)
We do not sell your information to data brokers, advertising networks, or any other third party. We do not “share” your information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA).
5.2 Clients and partner staffing firms
With your consent (express when you submit your profile, or implied when you respond to a specific role we contact you about), we share relevant portions of your profile with end clients evaluating you for a role and with Tier-1 partner staffing firms when we operate as a sub-vendor. Typical fields shared with clients: name, email, phone, resume, LinkedIn/GitHub URLs, summary of skills, work-authorization status, location, engagement preferences, expected compensation. We do not share information that isn’t relevant to evaluating you for the specific role.
You can withdraw consent for further sharing at any time by emailing privacy@editiontechnologies.com.
5.3 Legal and compliance
We may disclose information when required by law, valid legal process, or government request; to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; to investigate and prevent fraud, security incidents, or abuse; to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
5.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and provide a meaningful opportunity to address your information before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. How long we keep your information
We retain your information for as long as it’s reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Specifically:
- Candidate profiles and resumes: 24 months from the last interaction (last form submission, last email reply, last interview, or last placement). After 24 months of inactivity, we automatically purge the resume from R2 storage and the metadata from our D1 database.
- Contact-form submissions: 12 months.
- Live-chat messages: 12 months.
- Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe (one-click link in every issue). After unsubscribe we keep a hashed record of your email solely to prevent re-adding you accidentally.
- Web analytics data: Cloudflare Web Analytics retains aggregate traffic data per its standard policy (typically 6 months); we do not store individual-visitor data ourselves.
- Tax and employment records (for engineers we’ve placed on W-2 / 1099 / C2C): Retained per IRS and state requirements, generally 4-7 years after the engagement ends.
You may request deletion of your information at any time, subject to legal-retention obligations.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights regarding your personal information. We honor the following rights for any U.S. resident, regardless of state, because we believe these are reasonable expectations.
7.1 Rights you have
- Right to know / right to access: You can request a copy of the personal information we have about you, the categories we’ve collected, the sources we collected it from, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties we’ve shared it with.
- Right to correct: You can request corrections to inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete: You can request that we delete your personal information, subject to limited exceptions (for example, where we’re required to retain records for tax or employment-law compliance).
- Right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for behavioral advertising: We do not sell or share your information for behavioral advertising, so this right is satisfied by default.
- Right to opt out of automated decision-making: We don’t use automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
- Right to non-discrimination: We won’t discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. You’ll receive the same level of service whether or not you exercise your rights.
- Right to appeal: If we deny a rights request, you may appeal the decision by emailing
privacy@editiontechnologies.comwith the subject line “Privacy Rights Appeal.” We will respond within 60 days.
7.2 How to exercise your rights
Email privacy@editiontechnologies.com with:
- The right you want to exercise
- Enough information for us to verify your identity (typically the email address you used to interact with us, plus a description of when and how)
- Your specific request
We will acknowledge receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days. We may extend this by an additional 45 days if necessary; we’ll let you know if we need the extension.
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may verify the agent’s identity and authority before processing the request.
7.3 California-specific (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have all the rights above plus:
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: We don’t use sensitive personal information beyond what’s necessary to provide the staffing service you’ve engaged us for.
- Categories of personal information collected: See Section 2.
- Categories of personal information shared with service providers: See Section 5.1.
- Categories sold or “shared” for cross-context behavioral advertising: None.
You may also designate someone in writing to act on your behalf as an authorized agent.
7.4 Texas-specific (TDPSA — Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, eff. July 1, 2024)
Edition Technologies is a Texas LLC. We comply with the TDPSA. Texas residents have the rights described in Section 7.1, plus the right to opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects (we do not engage in such profiling).
7.5 Other states (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, etc.)
We honor the rights provided under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA), and similar state laws. The mechanism to exercise rights is the same: email privacy@editiontechnologies.com.
8. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. Specifically:
- Encryption in transit: All website traffic is served over HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher. Form submissions and API calls are encrypted in transit.
- Encryption at rest: Resume PDFs are stored in Cloudflare R2; database records in Cloudflare D1. Both are encrypted at rest by Cloudflare.
- Access control: Only authorized Edition Technologies team members can access candidate records, and only as necessary to perform their duties.
- Audit trail: Form submissions are timestamped and rate-limited per IP. Suspicious patterns are blocked.
- Web Application Firewall: Cloudflare WAF rules and bot management protect the site from common attack patterns.
We cannot, however, guarantee absolute security. Internet transmission and electronic storage are never completely secure. If you become aware of a security issue with our service, please report it to security@editiontechnologies.com.
9. Children’s privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. By submitting any form on our website, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If you believe we may have collected information from someone under 18, contact privacy@editiontechnologies.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. International users
Our services are intended for residents of the United States. If you access our website from outside the U.S., be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
We do not actively offer our services to residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other regions covered by the GDPR. If you are an EU/UK resident and you’ve nonetheless interacted with our services, contact privacy@editiontechnologies.com and we’ll honor reasonable GDPR-equivalent rights.
11. Cookies and tracking technologies
As of the Last Updated date above, our public website does not set any cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or browser fingerprinting. It uses basic page-load events and aggregate IP data (truncated and anonymized by Cloudflare) to count visits.
If we add new tracking technologies in the future (for example, if we deploy an admin portal with login cookies, or an analytics tool that uses cookies), we’ll update this Privacy Policy and provide notice on the website.
12. Marketing and email communications
If you signed up for our newsletter “The Edition,” role alerts, or otherwise opted into communications, we’ll email you accordingly. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
Transactional emails (e.g., confirming receipt of your application, sending you a download link for a resource you requested) are not subject to unsubscribe — they’re necessary to provide the service you requested.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, a banner on the website or an email to subscribers). The current Privacy Policy is always available at editiontechnologies.com/privacy.
