Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-29

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding legal agreement between you and Edition Technologies LLC (“Edition Technologies,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your use of editiontechnologies.com and related services. By accessing or using our website, submitting a form, downloading a resource, or otherwise interacting with us through this site, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our website.

Important note: These Terms govern your use of the public website. They do not govern any specific engagement between Edition Technologies and you (as a candidate, contractor, client, or partner vendor). Engagement-specific terms are set in separate written agreements (Master Services Agreements, contractor agreements, statements of work, etc.). Where engagement agreements conflict with these Terms, the engagement agreement controls.

1. Who can use the website

You may use the website only if you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of forming a binding contract with Edition Technologies. By using the site, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

If you are accessing the website on behalf of a company or organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. What we offer through the website

We use the website to:

  • Describe Edition Technologies’ services (engineering placement, contract staffing, sub-vendor partnership, payrolling)
  • Operate a talent network where engineers can submit profiles for consideration on current and future roles
  • Publish editorial content (blog, newsletter “The Edition”, lead-magnet guides) about engineering hiring
  • Receive contact inquiries from candidates, hiring managers, and partner vendors

The website is informational and intake-focused. Submitting a form or providing your information does not create an offer of employment, an offer of services, or any contractual obligation. Any actual engagement requires a separately signed written agreement.

3. Your responsibilities

When using the website, you agree:

  • To provide accurate information. Don’t submit forms with false names, fake email addresses, or fabricated experience.
  • Not to submit information about another person without their authorization. If you’re a recruiter or referrer, get the candidate’s permission before adding them to our talent network.
  • Not to interfere with the operation of the website. No automated submissions, scraping, denial-of-service attempts, port scanning, or vulnerability probing without prior written consent.
  • Not to upload malicious files. All resume uploads must be valid PDF documents containing your own work history. We perform mime-type and signature checks; deceptive uploads are rejected.
  • Not to use the website for purposes prohibited by law. Including but not limited to discrimination on the basis of any protected characteristic, harassment, or unlawful surveillance.
  • To comply with the unsubscribe and opt-out mechanisms. If you opt out of communications, you’ll receive only transactional messages thereafter. If you submit forms repeatedly after opting out, we may decline further interaction.

If you believe you’ve found a security vulnerability, please report it to security@editiontechnologies.com rather than exploit it. We follow responsible-disclosure norms.

4. Submissions and feedback

If you submit feedback, suggestions, comments, or other content to us through the website (excluding personal information governed by our Privacy Policy), you grant Edition Technologies a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback into our services without compensation or attribution.

This does not apply to your resume, application, or other personal information you submit for staffing purposes — those are governed by the Privacy Policy and the engagement-specific agreement that follows.

5. Intellectual property

5.1 Our content

Edition Technologies owns or licenses all content on the website, including text, graphics, logos, the “Edition Technologies” and “The Edition” word marks, the EditionMark icon, the Issue · 01 numbering motif, page layouts, and software. This content is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

You may view, save, and print our content for your personal, non-commercial use. You may quote brief excerpts of our blog posts and newsletter issues with proper attribution and a link back to the source. You may not:

  • Copy or republish substantial portions of our content without prior written consent
  • Use our trademarks (including “Edition Technologies,” “The Edition,” and the EditionMark icon) in a manner that suggests endorsement or affiliation
  • Scrape, harvest, or use automated tools to systematically extract content

5.2 Your content

You retain all rights to the resume, profile information, and other content you provide to us. By submitting your information through the website, you grant Edition Technologies a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy — primarily, matching you to staffing opportunities and communicating with you about them.

5.3 Trademarks of others

Other names, logos, and product names mentioned on the website (for example, names of partner staffing firms, end clients, or technology stacks) are the trademarks of their respective owners. Use of those names does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or embed third-party services (such as Beehiiv newsletter signup forms or Cloudflare Turnstile). We don’t control these third parties and aren’t responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. Following a link to a third-party site means you’ve left ours; their terms govern from that point.

7. Disclaimers

THE WEBSITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE WEBSITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

Specifically and without limitation:

  • We make no guarantee that submitting a profile to our talent network will result in a job offer, an interview, or any specific outcome.
  • We make no guarantee that contracting with us will result in a particular bill rate, placement timeline, or contract duration.
  • We make no guarantee that information on the website (including blog posts, salary briefs, market commentary) is current, accurate, or applicable to your specific situation. Editorial content reflects our observations as of the date published; markets change.
  • We make no guarantee of the availability of the website. We may take it down for maintenance, updates, or any other reason, with or without notice.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. To the extent any disclaimer above is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the disclaimer applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EDITION TECHNOLOGIES AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR DAMAGES FOR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE WEBSITE, EVEN IF EDITION TECHNOLOGIES HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00). This cap is independent of the form of action (contract, tort, or otherwise) and applies even if any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.

This limitation does not apply to:

  • Edition Technologies’ indemnification obligations under engagement-specific agreements (those have their own caps)
  • Liability that cannot be limited under applicable law
  • Personal injury or property damage caused by Edition Technologies’ gross negligence or willful misconduct

Some jurisdictions don’t allow the limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, the limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Edition Technologies and its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the website in violation of these Terms
  • Your submission of information that infringes a third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
  • Your fraudulent or willfully misleading use of any form on the website

We may, at our option, conduct our own defense at your expense. You will not settle any claim without our prior written consent.

10. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the website will be resolved as follows:

  • Informal resolution: Before filing a formal claim, you agree to contact us at legal@editiontechnologies.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute. Both parties agree to negotiate informally for at least 30 days before pursuing other remedies.
  • Venue: If informal resolution fails, the parties consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and waive any objection to that venue.

We have intentionally not included a mandatory arbitration clause or class-action waiver at this time. We may add one in the future; if we do, we’ll provide notice and an opportunity to opt out.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (for example, a banner on the website or an email to active users). Your continued use of the website after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you don’t agree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the website. The current version of the Terms is always available at editiontechnologies.com/terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website at any time, with or without notice or cause. Reasons may include violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, security concerns, or business reasons. The provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

13. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any engagement-specific agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Edition Technologies regarding your use of the website. They supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and Edition Technologies based on website use alone. Engagement-specific relationships (W-2, 1099, C2C, sub-vendor) are governed by their own agreements.
  • Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (natural disaster, war, internet outage, government action, etc.).
